Introduction
The Cisco Networking Academy® CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum is designed for students who are seeking entry-level ICT jobs or plan to pursue more specialized ICT skills.
CCNA Routing and Switching provides comprehensive coverage of networking topics, from fundamentals to advanced applications and services, with opportunities for hands-on practical experience and career skills development. Students will be prepared to take the CCNA® Routing and Switching certification exam after completing a set of three modules. In each module, Networking Academy™ students will learn technology concepts with the support of interactive media and apply and practice this knowledge through a series of hands-on and simulated activities that reinforce their learning.
CCNA Routing and Switching
You can prepare to take the Cisco CCENT certification exam after completing the first two modules and/or the CCNA Routing and Switching exam after completing all four modules. Exams need to be booked and paid for separately via a Pearson Vue testing centre.

Overview
CCNA Routing and Switching teaches comprehensive networking concepts, from network applications to the protocols and services provided to those applications by the lower layers of the network. Students will progress from basic networking to more complex enterprise and theoretical networking models later in the curriculum.
Modules
Introduction to Networks: This first Module in the CCNA introduces architectures, models, protocols, and networking elements – functions needed to support the operations and priorities of Fortune 500 companies to small innovative retailers. You’ll even get the chance to build simple local area networks (LANs) yourself. You’ll have a working knowledge of IP addressing schemes, foundational network security, and be able to perform basic configurations for routers and switches. No prerequisites required.
Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials: This module focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks, including wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. You’ll perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify and mitigate LAN security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN. Recommended preparation: CCNA: Introduction to Networks or having equivalent knowledge.
Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation: This third module in the CCNA series describes the architectures and considerations related to designing, securing, operating, and troubleshooting enterprise networks. It covers wide area network (WAN) technologies and quality of service (QoS) mechanisms used for secure remote access along with the introduction of software-defined networking, virtualization, and automation concepts that support the digitalization of networks. Recommended preparation: CCNA: Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials or possessing equivalent knowledge.
