Modules
Level 4
• Academic Skills (20 credits; compulsory)
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
o show awareness and ability to apply the key academic skills needed to succeed in higher education;
o reflect on their learning.
• Digital Skills (20 credits; compulsory)
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
o demonstrate technical competencies in using technologies to improve workplace efficiency;
o effectively navigate, identify, and handle a range of digital information/content.
• Effective Teamworking and Communication (20 credits; compulsory)
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
o apply the main theories relating to group dynamics and team working to a business context;
o demonstrate key communication skills in a business context.
• Problem Solving and Decision Making (20 credits; compulsory)
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to demonstrate the ability to:
o describe a problem, its nature, scope, and impact;
o gather and interpret information to solve a problem;
o evaluate options to make a decision;
o plan, monitor and review the implementation and communication of decisions.
• Employability and Career Development (20 credits; compulsory)
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
o understand the skills and knowledge needed for working effectively;
o demonstrate readiness for employability and personal advancement through an understanding of personal strengths and areas for further development;
o establish employment goals and develop a personal action plan.
• Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (20 credits; compulsory)
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
o identify and evaluate a business idea;
o design an appropriate business plan.
Entry Criteria
Entry onto the programme is by individual merit. Normally students under the age of 21 will have at least 1 A Level or BTEC National Diploma/Certificate or equivalent. Mature Candidates – experience can often be taken into consideration in lieu of formal qualifications. Grades are important; however, our offers are not solely based on academic results.
We are interested in creative people that demonstrate a strong commitment to their chosen subject area and therefore we welcome applications from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. The applicants will have to pass an assessment with one of our academics in order to be accepted onto the programme.
