Introduction

This highly practical and intensive 1 year post graduate programme offers rigorous training in directing and provides frequent opportunities to practically explore the craft.

UWTSD Cardiff offers a selection of postgraduate degrees that will provide the Students with a solid technique hand in hand with a broad understanding of the creative industries in Wales and beyond.

UWTSD Cardiff is a lively melting pot of the actors, singers, dancers and directors of the future. The courses’ work ethic is based on personal development, respect and collaboration. This stems from the support the students receive from the committed and professional staff.

Directing students will observe, participate and work with the students on other programmes to deepen their understanding of the acting process.

The main area of study will be how to establish and develop a connection between actors with the Meisner & Stanislavsky process, how to think in pictures in the imagined world, how to work with objectives and events in a psycho-physical process, how to encourage the performers' inspiration and creativity to create their best work.
