Introduction
The Motorcycle Engineering Degrees at UWTSD Swansea started in October 2003 and have developed to support the growing interest in the motorcycle racing and mainstream road riding sector.
Studying a Masters in the field of Motorcycle Engineering will enable you to develop the specific expertise required in the design, development and sophistication of the modern and competition motorcycle.
The course has a good mix of theoretical and practical taught elements as well as excellent motorcycle specific project opportunities, motorcycle specific assignment work and modules that provide a wide range of motorcycle related subjects while still enabling the student to tailor their study to their own needs and career aspirations.

Overview
As a natural development of the success of the Motorcycle Engineering undergraduate programme, the latest Masters programme aims to develop your understanding further, based upon the strong links between the University and the Industry.
The Motorcycle degree scheme allows the student the opportunity to experience the world of motorcycle engineering and world class motorcycle racing first hand.
Now the only MEng & BEng degree programme in Europe, and possibly the only scheme in the world specialising in Motorcycle Engineering, with members of staff who also work within the highest level of the industry in the world, giving the programme an insight into the highest level of competition motorcycle sport.
Students have gained employment with motorcycle specific companies such as Kalex, FTR, Yamaha WSB, Norton, Triumph and many other high class engineering roles, but also with automotive biased companies such as McLaren, Ricardo, Mahle, JLR and many others.

Entry Criteria
An honours degree of at 2:1 or above classification in an appropriate based discipline. The nature of the programme is such that candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds will be considered.
Equivalent Qualifications
These will be considered for entry onto the programme. For example, an applicant with a good HND, together with at least five years relevant experience would be considered. The candidate would be expected to provide evidence to support his/her application.
Our offers are not solely based on academic results. We will take into account your skills, achievements and work experience. Evidence of personal professional and educational experience will be sought to provide indicators of the ability of an individual to satisfy the requirements of the programme.

Assessment
Assessment is undertaken in a wide range of formats from the traditional examination and coursework, to more ‘industrial’ based assessment methods such as track-side field work, workshop based tasks, computer software based assessments and oral examinations and group seminars.
Career Opportunities
The graduates from the motorcycle engineering pathways at UWTSD have gained employment in a wide range of engineering disciplines both inside and outside of the Motorcycle Engineering Industry.
Students have gained employment with motorcycle specific companies such as Suzuki MotoGP, KTM MotoGP and Moto2, a number of Moto2 teams, Kalex, FTR, Yamaha WSB, Norton, Triumph and many other high-class engineering roles.
They have also been very successful in employment in the more automotive biased sector with companies such as McLaren, Ricardo, Mahle, Jaguar Landrover, Aston Martin and many others.
