UWTSD Swansea started one of the first Automotive Engineering degree in 1990’s and have developed an excellent reputation in the industry.
Studying a Masters in the field of Automotive Engineering will enable you to develop the specific expertise required in the design, development, engineering, manufacturing and optimisation of vehicles.
The course has a good mix of theoretical and practical taught elements as well as excellent Automotive specific project opportunities, Automotive specific assignment work and modules which cover a wide range of Automotive related subjects while still enabling the student to tailor their study to their own needs and career aspirations.

Overview
As a natural development of the success of the Automotive Engineering undergraduate programmes offered by UWTSD, the latest Masters programme aims to develop your understanding further, based upon the strong links between the University and the Industry.
The Automotive degree schemes allow students the opportunity to experience the world of Automotive engineering and development with a mix of applied and theoretical learning.
Grounded by mechanical engineering principles, students develop these themes with a particular focus on vehicle engineering and manufacture through applied examples and projects.

Entry Criteria
An honours degree of at 2:1 or above classification in an appropriate based discipline. The nature of the programme is such that candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds will be considered.
Equivalent qualifications
These will be considered for entry onto the programme. For example, an applicant with a good HND, together with at least five years relevant experience would be considered. The candidate would be expected to provide evidence to support his/her application.
Our offers are not solely based on academic results. We will take into account your skills, achievements and work experience. Evidence of personal professional and educational experience will be sought to provide indicators of the ability of an individual to satisfy the requirements of the programme.

Assessment is undertaken in a wide range of formats from the traditional examination and coursework, to more ‘industrial’ based assessment methods such as track-side fieldwork, workshop-based tasks, computer software-based assessments and oral examinations and group seminars.
