Introduction

This course aims to provide upskilling opportunities and a workplace-focused learning experience that ensures that each student is given the opportunity to fulfil their potential and in turn transform the communities in which they live and work. On successful completion, students can progress to study BA Leadership and Management Skills for the Workplace.

Overview

The programme is specifically created in its content and flexible delivery to give you the confidence to anticipate problems and find solutions, to work independently and with other people, to plan things out before you start and complete the things you've started, in short, to develop the skills that employers want!

All of the teaching is project-based, linking theory with practice and ensuring that each module is contextualised within real workplace situations and challenges.

• Academic Skills (20 credits; compulsory)
• Digital Skills (20 credits; compulsory)
• Effective Team Working and Communication (20 credits; compulsory)
• Problem Solving and Decision Making (20 credits; compulsory)
• Employability and Career Development (20 credits; compulsory)
• Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (20 credits; compulsory).

Entry Criteria

Entry onto the programme is by individual merit. Normally students under the age of 21 will have at least 1 A Level or BTEC National Diploma/Certificate or equivalent. Mature Candidates – experience can often be taken into consideration in lieu of formal qualifications. Grades are important; however, our offers are not solely based on academic results.
